Metodistkirken i Porsgrunn is a part of The United Methodist Church in Norway (UMC Norway). We work according to the mission of the UMC "to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world".

In our vision we say that "We care - because the love of Christ has encouraged us to be in ministry".

We invite you to join us for:

Worship Service: Our Worship Service is each Sunday at 11 a.m., and is a mix of a traditional and contemporary worship. Some Sundays we will have "Generasjonsgudstjeneste" which has a special focus on children and youth. Most Sundays there is church coffee after the Worship Service.

Sinnsrogudstjeneste: The last Sunday each month there will be "Sinnsrogudstjeneste" at 7 p.m. This is a Worship Service buildt around The Serenity Prayer: “Lord grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.” (The Serenity Prayer is the common name for an originally untitled prayer written by the theologian Reinhold Niebuhr. This prayer has been adopted by Alcoholics Anonymous and other twelve-step programsl). This Worship Service is for everyone that struggles with life in some way, or is searching for meaning in life. The music style is jazz inspired, and there will be time for silence, reflection, and prayer. This Worship Service is a co-operation between The Church of Norway Porsgrunn, The United Methodist Church in Porsgrunn, and Porsgrunn Diaconal Foundation.

Activities for all ages: We have activities for children and youth, seniors, and a women's division working for our global mission projects. Our church choir, Immanuelkoret, is open for everyone that likes to sing, and has it's practice each Monday at 7.30 p.m.
