Northern Europe and Eurasia left out

A letter to the Council of Bishops expresses disappointment over the fact that our area is the only one left out of the Commission.
Northern Europe and Eurasia left out

In a letter sent 27th October and signed by all the delegates to the General Conference from the Northern Europe area of the Northern Europe and Eurasia Central Conference, disappointment over the lack of representation in the Commission on Human Sexuality "A Way Forward" is expressed to the Council of Bishops.

To The Council of Bishops

Regarding membership of the Commission on a Way Forward
We have followed the formation of the Commission on a Way Forward with interest, and pray and hope for a successful process in the work of the commission. We are also aware that the process of nomination and forming the group has been hard and that you have had to make a lot of considerations.
However, when the list of members was published, we realized that all Jurisdictions and all Central Conferences are represented except ours! As members of the Northern Europe and Eurasia Central Conference we find this hard to understand and are truly disappointed to be the only region left out from the table. Could you explain why we are left out from the Comission? We might be one of the smaller Central Conferences in terms of members, but our Central Conference spans 11 time zones, contains two episcopal areas, 10 annual conferences, ministry in 14 countries and holds a huge variety in cultures and opinions. There are many sincere United Methodists from our Central Conference who are willing to serve on this commission.
We hope you will reconsider this decision and include a member from our Central Conference so that the good United Methodist principle of representativeness is restored in this commission.
Peace and grace,

Frøydis Grinna, GC delegate from Norway Annual Conference, clergy
Audun Westad, GC delegate from Norway Annual Conference, lay
Andreas Elfving, GC delegate from the Finland Swedish Provisional Annual Conference, lay
Leif-Göte Björklund, GC delegate from the Finland Swedish Provisional Annual Conference, clergy
